I am requesting yoga balls and some materials to create different seating options within my classroom. Yoga balls help students to be more concentrated by engaging their bodies and allowing them to wiggle while still working. These are also healthier options for students to sit in because sitting in regular chairs all day is hard on the backs of the students. The other materials will allow the students to either sit on the floor or to stand at a raised table. Being able to stand allows students who are tired to be able to focus without fear of falling asleep and some students find sitting on the floor to be more comfortable. Allowing the students to be more active within the classroom will help their brains to work more efficiently and will increase their learning.
