Children in my class will understand the attributes that define a geometric shape and how they connect to create new shapes. My students will be able to identify geometric shapes and apply knowledge of geometry, using manipulatives and pictures to support their learning. They will use the picture cards to build two dimensional shapes on the light board in a problem solving team task center. My students will practice naming and identifying each of the smaller parts that created the chosen picture. The light board will enhance the art aspect of learning geometry and how shapes work together to create beautiful pictures.
