Many children today are facing many obstacles before they set foot in the classroom each morning. Anxiety in children is at an all time high which negatively impacts their ability to focus and learn. By creating a comforting and calming environment, anxiety can be reduced as well as eyestrain and headaches. Working with my students at a round table will allow me to give the individualized attention they need to assure comprehension and confidence. Many students are uncomfortable speaking out in class, but will participate in small groups with the teacher nearby. By creating a calming and tranquil environment different from the standard classroom desks and bright lights, my students will feel calm and safe to participate and learn together!
