The books chosen for this were selected as high interest reads used for an intended independent reading unit. I am blessed with a school with many readers, however, we lack engaging texts for our students. This would help us provide meaningful texts to a large number of students. I want to provide my students with texts in which they can see themselves. These students face so many obstacles, often while feeling they are all alone. Engaging and relevant literature can help them see there are people just like them who are able to overcome their hardships and enjoy successful futures.

About my class
