The two Chromebooks will be a huge asset to our classroom. These new laptops will be used across the curriculum. First, they will greatly help with our new writing curriculum. The fourth graders write persuasive, expository, and narrative essays. With the Chromebooks, students would be able to research their writing topics. In addition, students would be able to type and publish their final draft. For reading, students will be able to read books on their independent reading level using programs like RAZ Reading. Furthermore, students who need support with basic reading could use Lexia to improve their skills. In math, students will be able to use interactive math programs to improve math fact fluency and math concepts. Lastly, students will learn invaluable computer skills. Technology has become an important part of society, but many of my students do not have computers at home. Using these Chromebooks will improve their typing and overall knowledge of laptops.
