In American Sign Language, students need to acquire the beautiful language through their eyes and not their ears. When the majority of your students are not Deaf, they tend to utilize their ears as their primary language receiver. I am trying to change this by using ear plugs so that my students learn the language through their eyes. Additionally, having computer top video cameras will help my less fortunate students, who cannot do their homework at home, because they cannot afford a video camera to record themselves signing. Since this is not a written language, it is imperative that they have the tools necessary to practice the manual aspects of this incredible visual language. Please help my students learn to use their eyes not ears to engage educationally in American Sign Language.
