In my special needs classroom, I have students with varying disabilities that lead to an extraordinary importance for classroom cleanliness because the students are still learning basic skills such as using the bathroom independently and practicing life skills, specifically related to hygiene. We need certain supplies in the classroom to maintain a safe, sanitary, healthy learning environment for my students to spend their days. With these supplies, the students will benefit from a clean classroom and hopefully will get sick less often. Flu season is always difficult! On top of that, we can incorporate the life skills into the classroom and when appropriate, students will be able to use some of the supplies, which can help them become more independent.
