The rug will be used daily beginning with the first part of our day as we circle up to greet one another and build our classroom community. My first graders sit near me on the carpet as I teach all new lessons. The carpet is also the place I have the most behavior problems. Giving them each their own space on a rug will help them focus on the lesson and help me with classroom management. My students all have unique ways of learning and I differentiate in all areas to meet their needs. When adults need to focus, we head to coffee shops or the library, where we get to choose the seating we feel most comfortable. I want my classroom environment to mirror the positivity my students bring to our room each day. Please consider helping us make our classroom the place we learn best!
