My classroom is an elementary special education classroom, serving students in Kindergarten-3rd grade. These students have a range of disabilities, often which cause and require an alternative approach to thinking and learning. In class, we work on reading, writing, math, and social skills in a structured small group environment. The uniqueness of each one of my students makes each day a joyous adventure; one in which we learn a little more about showing compassion and overcoming challenges. After all, it isn't our disabilities, but all of our wonderful and special abilities that really count.
