Developing a universal design for learning lesson around these books help my students not only read and be enthusiastic about reading, these novels teach compassion for animals and our environment. They also have young, outspoken lead characters that show even though you may be young, you can still make changes. Along with covering these novels in class, I will be able to teach my students the science and history behind the novels setting and the environment. I am able to not only teach reading and literature, I am able to provide my students with a more worldly view of their environment.

About my class
