Each student in my classroom would receive a stability ball in replace of a hard, school chair. The stability ball allows my students to help students engage the muscles and the parts of their brains needed to focus during instruction or during independent work. The ball allows the student to calm their central nervous system, giving them a strategy use self regulation to focus and attend to their tasks with less sensory breaks and less distractions. The stability ball chairs will greatly benefit their self regulation skills to meet their social, academic and sensory needs I will provide the materials to give my students the individualized attention they need in a special education classroom. The stability ball chairs will benefit the materials and strategies I provide them with sensory output so they can focus on the social and academic skills they need to learn.
