As a past player, soccer helped shaped me into who I am, has taught me so many important lessons about life, and has provided me with many exciting opportunities to meet new people and travel around the United States. This is what lead me to want to coach children and teach them these same values. Sports teach children these important life skills including responsibility, dedication, leadership skills and communication. One of the earliest things sports teach kids is responsibility. Most teams practice once or twice a week and children also have school and homework, so they have to learn to be responsible with their time so they can get everything done. Kids also learn about responsibility by having to bring their own gear to practices and games such as a ball to soccer, water to stay hydrated and all their gear. Parents will often make their children have good grades to participate in their individual sport so this also encourages them to get their work done and done correctly. This promotes good grades and good attendance. Teaching and learning these values are a crucial part of life that all children need and I am excited to be a part of the process. We need soccer balls, goalie gloves and shirts and a ball bag.
