While our school is fortunate enough to have an abundance of space, we are new and just beginning to build our music programs. My students come from varying backgrounds, most from broken or struggling homes, and see school as one of their safe spaces. The students I teach have a love of music that goes beyond most listeners. For them, it is an escape from the struggles they face on a daily basis. My classroom is a haven for them; a safe space where they can talk about their problems, enjoy beautiful music, or just somewhere quiet to study for a bit. Music classes are slowly being forgotten and this must stop! Our goal as a school is to build a music program that is known all over the state, but being successful in that requires materials that are difficult to come by. Please consider donating to my music classes to continue to provide these students a place where they can learn, grow, and perform beautiful music.
