I am presenting an opportunity for you to help the young children in our class at our elementary school gain access to a classroom library full of high quality informational text so they will continue to be curious, motivated, successful learners throughout their educational careers. My project, "Growing Young Minds with Informational Text," includes supplementary expository books that support second grade standards in mathematics, science and social studies. Through guided instruction and exciting learning experiences my students have shown that they are capable of reading, writing and seeking answers in informational text. I believe student success and achievement greatly benefits from their having experiences with reading and exploring informational text.

About my class
