Who are you helping? I serve vulnerable youth who are facing homelessness, who come from difficult home situations, who have come to this country leaving all they once knew, and who have become caregivers within their families. I am looking to create a welcoming environment and a space that will allow them to feel safe enough to ask for the help they need. I give the supplies they often feel ashamed to ask for and food items because they don't have enough at home. My office is often the place where broken hearts are encouraged and where bad mornings can turn into a better day. In my space, students will work on school work during a working lunch and take a stressor off their load. Finally, in my space, it is a safe space to vent and find positive solutions to what can seem impossible to resolve.
