The Scholastic Magazine subscription will allow me to provide Common Core State Standards with high interesting articles including amazing photographs for students to make connections to writing, practice reading skills, and acquire vocabulary. These magazines would also provide comprehension activities and online extension activities to be used in the classroom. The reading book set would help my students to practice reading skills, build vocabulary, and increase comprehension while having fun. The highlighters would be used by the students to practice annotation skills during close reading activities. They could use them on their own magazines! This project also will help to bring down the cost of photocopies that I rely on to teach Close Reading. All of these materials will contribute to make reading a fun way to teach and learn. Please help them become successful readers.
