I am so pleased to be working with such a diverse group of students! Their diversities reflect in learning styles, personalities, cultures, and traumas. They have such a thirst for knowledge and are excited about learning. My students can't wait for my guided instruction to end because they want to jump right into discovering the learning for themselves. Any time of the day, you can enter our room to hear my students buzzing with wondrous excitement while learning is happening. The traumas in my students' lives range from the fear of deportation of family members, imprisonment of a parent, hunger, single or divorced parents, ill and disabled parents or siblings to homelessness. Despite their traumas, my students are eager to learn. They would benefit immensely from a field trip to the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, California.
