My students lost everything! This year has been very hard and the kids have asked and wanted to read more this year than before. It is true, you never miss what you have until it is gone, and my students miss having a class library to escape and unwind inside the confines of a good book. This is a need they really should have fulfilled. The academic benefits of reading will help them with mental stability and aid them in every subject. My kids have lost many of the books they love, such as "Wonder", "Holes", A Wrinkle in Time", and "Hatchet." These books are childhood classics and many of them have fond memories from their 6th grade year and projects they did with them. This classroom library will allow students that finish early a relaxing and fun reward to escape from the confines of their desk and lounge, read, and unwind. My students need to relax, wind down, and escape within a book. Please help us reach our goal!
