My students come to my classroom every day from a variety of backgrounds and reading levels. I want to give all my students the chance to go on an adventure through reading books that are engaging and interesting. I want them to learn through challenging themselves in reading new books, and I feel that students should have book choice when reading. "Reading is dreaming with eyes wide open." My students are given time everyday to read a book of their choice. We are working extremely hard to become better readers. However, this is my first year teaching, and my classroom library is very limited due to the cost of books. Many students in my classroom have read every book in my classroom library that interests them. I have taken an interest inventory for reading, and the books selected appeal to my students. They will be available to students so they can make their own book choice when reading everyday.
