I purchased a laser color printer. I use it to print communication boards and color materials for my students. I have now run out of toner. My non-verbal students use colored communication boards to communicate basic wants and need at school, such as lunch/snack choices and when they use the bathroom. Verbal and non-verbal students in our self-contained classrooms use colored picture symbols to answer general questions in class or to demonstrate knowledge of what was presented in class, such as "Who was the story about?" I wear colored picture symbols on my lanyard to communicate basic instructions such as "quiet," "sit," and "too loud." We use colored pictures to sequence and retell stories. Visual schedules with colored picture symbols are made so that students will know what activities they need to prepare for. I am asking for assistance to replace the toner and to purchase some cardstock. The school supplies us with paper, but cardstock is preferred for some students due to increased durability. I laminate or place colored materials in sheet protectors so that I can use them multiple times. However, I continue to have a need to print more colored materials as student needs vary and vocabulary increases. I appreciate your help.
