The Kindle Fire Tablets I am requesting will be used in reading and writing to create authentic learning opportunities for my students. I teach writing to two classes of first graders. Therefore, 48 students will benefit from this technology! They will use the tablets to present their writing pieces through apps like Chatterpix. They will also use the tablets to research information to add to their non-fiction writing pieces. Granting students access to technology devices will provide them with real-world experiences in the classroom. In reading, students will read e-books on the Kindle Fire Tablets during independent and guided reading. They will also use apps such as Teach Your Monster To Read, EPIC, and Duck Duck Moose Reading. These are research-based apps to improve student understanding in reading. These tablets will be used every day in multiple educational ways!
