By having an Android tablet in my classroom will allow my students a different way to learn in our learning centers. All learning styles need to be reached and this would bridge the gap for those students who may be kinesthetic as well as auditory and even visual through the various educational apps that are available. Today mostly everything we see or hear is through technology and because my students may not have this opportunity at home this will be a great opportunity for them to learn the same way other students do in other schools and have fun while doing it. Since we teach/learn through thematic units I have even envisioned them using the tablet to research/explore things related to the theme (Ex: dinosaurs, insects, plants, Four Seasons, etc.). Also, since we teach/ learn a letter or two a week, how fun would it be for my students to explore and take pictures of things in or outside of the classroom that begin or end with that letter, which would also allow me to assess and see who is knowledgeable of the letter sound and who may need a little more help? As of this very moment I have only one computer in my classroom, which is kind of impossible to use as a center. So, to have this opportunity would be greatly appreciated and would help my students in this technology filled world!!
