My 4th grade students are awesome in their will to learn and be a great productive citizen. I have 2 groups made up of about 50% LEP and transitioning into English. I teach them math, science and social studies. This past summer they were victims of Harvey and missed 2 weeks of schooling. They are still trying to overcome their losses and do not have technology at home or WiFi for parents are barely providing their basic needs. They are learning to love math and especially math computer programs. My students enjoy science projects and research to discover the world we live in. My class welcomes new students wthout looking for differences for we are learning through social studies acceptance of differences between us. They so enjoyed Hispanic Heritge Month by doing a project and meeting an Opera singer and famous ballerina. They are preparing to research a famous Black American for Black HIstory Month.
