As a Kindergarten teacher, I encounter many children who have never experienced a structured classroom setting. My main goal is to set them up for success so that they love school, continue to be curious, and want to learn all they can. I believe my students would benefit from the 2017 Parents' Choice Recommended Award winning Hot Dots learning sets. Hot Dots are interactive tools that help to supplement the curriculum by testing the students' knowledge through the use of a power pen and multiple choice answer cards. The cards target key content skills in variety of curricular areas. The Educational Insights website states that Hot Dots are an "Out of the box active learning experience that inspire a child's curiosity and encourage them to explore, discover, and create." Through the use of Hot Dots, I could help children master critical, age appropriate skills while promoting independent learning. My classroom is set up where students work in learning centers on a daily basis. The use of the Hot Dots would be incorporated into our daily routines. I have the potential to teach 46 students everyday, and they look to me to lead them into a world of knowledge. As a teacher, my job is to meet the needs of all of my students and having choices, such as the Hot Dots, would help me to provide self-paced learning
