Hello! I am a first grade teacher in Oklahoma City. The students I teach are from low income families and have struggles that affect much of their learning. We work on many classroom projects and classroom books that require the use of copying. A personalized copier for our classroom would serve this need. Kids need to learn how to communicate their ideas. With a personal copier in the room, kids (who are not allowed to use the larger copiers in the teacher room) will be able to go through the editing process, photocopying things for group and peer editing work. They can photocopy reading so that they can use highlighters to mark up things they need to understand in the story or to change in their writing. It will seriously enhance their entire literacy experience. With your contribution, kids have an abundantly supportive language-rich environment, which is part of the literacy puzzle.
