My school is a title 1 school located in a urban area also a neighborhood school. The population is 98% students on free and reduced lunch. Considering that most students come from this poor economic background, they have limited exposure to life outside of their community and surely their city. These students live in an area where slain is the primary language. They can not distinguish between language to use at home vs language you use in professional settings and learning environments. This lays a draw-back for their language and educational foundation because of the language they speak in their community environments.
