The literacy resources for my project will support my rising scholars as they begin to connect reading to writing, because reading leads to better writing, and writing has the same effect on reading. Each item will enrich and support the following literacy centers during my guided reading block: writing, word work, reading comprehension/fluency. The place value activity kit and visualize math and write boards will aid with teaching/reinforcing numbers and operations, computation, number sense, and problem solving for all students, especially those who struggle. Many of my students do not have the means for the resources they need for basic classroom functions. Therefore, I make it my duty to supply them with a wealth of resources that will enhance their learning experience. The academic needs in my classroom varies. The project material requested will enable me to differentiate my instruction to meet their needs and ability levels. In addition, it will encourage healthy social interaction by promoting student collaboration, facilitate student motivation, and provide targeted practice.
