Students in my more advanced culinary classes run a cafe as a student-led enterprise. Students plan menus, take orders, cook, and serve the teachers during lunch in order to gain work experience in the culinary industry without having to leave school. In order to explore new techniques and menu options, students have asked for an indoor grill and sandwich presses in order to plan a wider variety of food that meet the needs of their cafe customers. Having these new grills and presses will give these students experience with more equipment and techniques used in the culinary industry. They will have the ability to explore current trends in the world of hospitality management.

About my class
