The Discovery Program is the self-contained special education classroom for students who function at least 2 grade levels below their age. Our classroom serves grades 5th-7th and will be adding 8th grade next year. The current Discovery students function at a PreK-1st grade reading and writing level, and a PreK-3rd grade math level. We also learn science, social studies, and life skills. Our classroom picture is one we took when Allie the Therapy Dog came to visit us for a day! Our educational needs change frequently depending on what life skills, functional skills, behavioral goals, and academic goals we are working towards. 2017-2018 is the first year for a self-contained education program at KIPP Poder Academy, so we are just beginning to build our resources. Thank you so much for helping us to continue our learning journey to and through a choice filled life! Ms. Rodriguez
