We spend a lot of time making materials for students in the classroom to allow for appropriate sensory outlets. We have a wish list of items to allow for students to benefit at maximum potential during their day. We have students who struggle to sit or even stand long enough to focus. We have an Autistic student that will bite himself and staff in order to release pressure. In order for our students to focus or to keep from hurting themselves we need to help provide appropriate outlets for sensory needs. Providing our children with appropriate sensory input, will allow us to help them work toward achieving their individual goals! It's an amazing feeling, when as a teacher we can see a child physically release enough to learn for the day! Each moment is precious and granted the necessary tools, we will make sure to provide the most opportunity for each child during the day. As a teacher, I love what I do and would be grateful to be able to provide materials that are out of my budget and are truly necessary for the success of my students. With such a diverse need it is a struggle to provide every student with everything they need, but through this organization and the generosity of its donors we would be able to provide a variety of items to meet as many needs possible. We are truly blessed to have this opportunity to provide whatever we can to our students.
