I enjoy giving rewards to students for making good choices. I have a checkbook system, where students can use their behavior points they earn to buy items from my class store. For example, every student automatically receives 50 points just for coming to class and at the end of class they need to adjust points based on whether or not they followed the classroom rules. If they did not follow classroom rules they need to assess points, these points then turn into money that they enter into their own checkbook. The money in their checkbook can be used to purchase items from the class store at the end of the quarter. I am requesting supplies that would not only help with my students organization but also their class projects (folders, baskets for group tables). Also, I am requesting reinforcements such as, pencils, stuffed animals, bracelets, etc to reinforce on task behavior. In the past, students have enjoyed saving their money from their checkbooks to buy from the class store. As a teacher buying all these products for the class store can be expensive. Students learn to be on task, participate in class, and follow classroom procedures, so that they can earn money to buy items in the class store. They are also learning about money and a checking system.
