Providing an updated library filled with classic literature, young adult literature, and nonfiction will open many doors for these students. As I have mentioned in the description of my students, a majority of these students come from low-income households. Sometimes all it takes to change someone's outlook and mindset is reading one book. Being able to gift these students with an updated classroom library would be a major accomplishment and blessing in my first year of teaching. This will not only affect the students that I have in class now, but also the groups of students I will have in the future.
