My special education students are inspired by books that they can read. There is something special about a new book. They also like to be the teacher and show their thinking within their small group guided reading lessons. A large dry erase easel and individual easels will support my fourth grade students when they are doing word work, having direct instruction, and when "writing about reading." Donations of these books and teaching materials will help low-income, struggling learners renew their excitement to read. These children have to work extra hard, because learning does not come as easily for them. I am excited for my students to have materials to support their success that has been especially chosen to meet their individual needs.
