My students love to talk about math (they really do!). In doing some research online, I discovered a concept called a 360-degree classroom. This is where whiteboards are placed all around a room for students to use. Students are able to easily ask other students questions and compare answers to make sure they are on the right track. My students are social learners. They are great at talking to each other about how to solve their math problems. Students who are standing or sitting near each other are more able to discuss math concepts than students sitting at individual desks. When students help teach each other, their learning is increased. I would love to start adding quality whiteboards to my classroom so that my students are inspired to work together even more!
