Students draw the image of the vocabulary word, on the sticky note, while writing the word in their notebook. This allows student to use their creativity while learning. Students then play games throughout the lessons, taking off the sticky note and placing it back on. The movement alone with verbalizing and visualizing the word helps in the effectiveness of learning. Another way of playing the same game, is with flashcards of verbs made out of bright colored card stock. The flashcards are flashy colors and bring smiles to the students' faces. Students manipulate the cards into three piles: difficult, so so, easy, reviewing the meaning and usage of each verb. The easy pile grows larger with more practice. Students love using color in their notebooks. It gives them pride to see that their daily work adds up to create an end of the semester project. After they have drawn the vocabulary in their notebooks, they also play "Pictionary" using whiteboards and whiteboard markers. All of the learning modalities are applied simultaneously.
