I surveyed my students in the beginning of the school year regarding seating options. Over 90% of my students indicated that they would enjoy and utilize flexible seating options such as balance balls and wobble chairs. Many indicated that it was hard for them to concentrate and sit still in traditional desks. These flexible seating options will help provide my students with the ability to make their own choices and to empower my students to decide how they learn best. I have selected balance balls and wobble chairs to help my students become more engaged and moving during class time. High School students spend hours a day sitting in class. These flexible seating resources will help students work collaboratively and not feel stuck in a desk designed decades ago.
