My class always starts our morning together on the floor. A comfortable rug with a well defined area for each student will help to provide students with the space and comfort they need to begin their day. A class favorite, story time, is another part of the day where students will benefit from a classroom rug. The rug is set up in a way where each student will be surrounded by others to have conversation partners as we read through and discuss stories. The rug will also help with student behavior, as students will visually see how they can stay in their own "personal space bubble."
