It will be SO exciting to add a new book to our classroom library! I know the kids will LOVE the story "The One and Only Ivan." This will bring enthusiasm to our reading block each day. I already have so many fun activities we can do with the story. We can use math to find the area and perimeter of Ivan's new home. Also, the students could create habitats for multiple kinds of animals. (We are currently learning about different habitats.) Finally, the kids could use the engineering design process to create a way to transport a baby elephant. I can't wait to get started!
