Hurricane Harvey flooded my classroom destroying all my counseling centers. I had worked for decades to collect items of interest that would spark a discussion with young students to help create a therapeutic and inviting environment. We were just days away from the start of another great year when Harvey poured over 60 inches of rain on our community flooding my room. The storm destroyed all my furniture, bean bags, rugs, and many of my toys. Rebuilding will be hard, especially since the whole school was flooded. However, these students have been through such trauma that an inviting place to come and talk would benefit the whole school.
