Learning Sign Language can improve many aspects of a child's communication skills, as well as giving them use of another language. Students who learn sign language are better spellers, as they can both see and hear the word. They will improve their fine motor skills, potentially improving coordination and strength. Students who can sign are better able to read body language and understand feelings and emotions - making them better communicators. Having a greater supply of DVD videos and tutorials will give my students the chance to satisfy their desire to learn all they can about Sign Language, and will fuel my fledgling club with material for years to come.
