Sensory tools will help calm my students and center them, allowing them to be better prepared to learn. My students with autism all have differing sensory needs that help make the successful throughout the day. Sensory tools allow for my students to begin to learn independence in using them and self-soothing techniques. With a classroom full of sensory tools like chewy necklaces, water beads, bean bags, body socks, and a designated cozy cubes space for calming down, students will have the tools to have their sensory needs met and have less behavioral issues. Fewer challenging behaviors means more learning opportunities for my students!
