Our students are growing up in a large, urban, struggling community. As a school guidance counselor, I would like to implement a positive behavioral support system for my students. My students will learn social/ emotional skills and positive behaviors in my program and will earn educational incentives as a reward. This will enhance their self-esteem and build a sense of community and cooperation in our school. We aim for our young scholars to aspire to become responsible and honest leaders in our ever changing would. I have noticed that play-doh is not only a popular incentive among my students but also a great therapeutic tool to reduce their anxiety levels. As some research results show, play-doh can help students develop coping skills. My students will truly benefit from having a set of play-doh as incentives. They will be even more motivated to make good choices and be responsible learners. Please help my students develop their social/ emotional skills in a fun and productive way.
