My students are active learners that engage in hands on learning every single day! In our classroom we learn in a workshop model, which means the kids "do" instead of just listening. For example, in reading and writing workshop our students choose "just right spots" for themselves to read and write every single day. Donating to flexible seating allows them to be focused, attentive, and continue to gain a love for literacy! Another example of this is in our math workshop where students rotate to hands on stations where they practice, explain and create in math. This produces life long math skills! Sitting in traditional desks and chairs, or even on the hard floor can be difficult for the many active learners in my classroom. Having flexible seating like bean bag chairs and balance balls will make our workshop learning an even more positive educational experience. By giving my students an active choice of seating while they engage in learning, you are giving them a hopeful future. Student choice is so important in their development and helps them gain ownership for their learning. Please consider partnering with me to help my students form a deep love for learning as they are becoming life long learners! Donating to our flexible classroom seating is a small way to make a big impact on these precious kids. These donations will be used to purchase bean bag chairs that will make for fun seating during reading and writing workshop! The bouncy chairs will be used at desks during activities such as math workshop! My kiddos will love love love this alternative seating while we learn.
