Mecklenburg County Public School's vision to is to provide a 21st century learning environment which fosters career literacy, academic enhancement, social-emotional growth and community engagement that prepares students who contribute to the global society. Hello room and learning transformation! The 32 students will be transforming the centers in Mrs. M, Ms. C, and Ms. A's room into career/academic based including a bakery, grocery store, pet shop, and etc. The students will be exploring each center through the application of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies as well as visual arts, theater arts, and computer technology. The students will be implementing letter recognition and beginning sounds during the post office center acting as the mail carrier. The bakery center will implement visual arts by creating their own baked goods, language arts through creating their own recipes, and mathematics with using money to purchase items (penny, nickel, dime, and quarter). These are just a few of the many different standards that the students will be working with throughout these developmental centers.
