Painted Sky Elementary is a fully funded Title I school. My students come from diverse socioeconomic, at-risk, and cultural backgrounds. Some of my students come to me needing breakfast, lots of re-teaching, encouragement, and lots of love. My class this year is approximately half boys, and half girls. Differentiation is the key word in my lesson planning-at least seven different levels, from 2nd to early 6th grade. Several students are more in need of positive reinforcement and confidence building so that they want to learn, trust themselves to be successful. Most are eager to learn, and eager to please.
