A newly formed partnership with our local county parks has opened the walls of our traditional classrooms and allowed our students to study environmental sciences in our local parks. Throughout the year our students will be going to the parks to research abiotic factors, assist the park district with water projects, and investigate food chains and webs, including decomposers. We have the location, the curriculum and the basic supplies but in order for our students to fully participate in environmental studies, they need access to the tools of true field researchers and environmental experts. We are asking for funding for field microscopes.
