One area of learning that allows our students to explore is in science and discovery, where students grow cognitive, math, and literacy skills through problem solving and investigating the world around them. We are asking for materials to enhance our science and discovery area in our classroom by engaging our students in investigations around light and what being a scientist means. The light panel would allow students to use materials we already have in the classroom as well as the new transparent shapes and counters to explore physical properties of objects like how they interact with light and what they are made of. A microscope would give them the opportunity to explore objects in a very new way. By giving them those tools as well as safety goggles, they can feel like real scientists now to give them a “Head Start” to pursue a career in the STEM field!
