My students come from many different backgrounds. Over the course of the day, my classroom has students from all of the world, speaking different languages, and teaching us all about their experiences. My students come from suburban, inner city, and rural communities. They have inconsistent access to technology and the internet. In English, we work on American Literature and Writing. We work on skills that go beyond the study of literature. Community is very important in room 521. We have routines and procedures which allow us to work together as a team, but also allows for individuals to work on independent learning. Group work and peer teaching is also a part of our learning. Students will work to accomplish tasks, guided by peer leaders. More and more of our learning involves the support of technology and Google Classroom.
