Kindergartens bring excitement into the classroom. They like to move as they learn. Stability balls and wobble cushions would allow my students this. They could bounce their energy away and channel their focus into their academics. Students will be able to concentrate for longer periods of time. Students should be allowed to move freely just as adults do. The stability balls will be used at the guided reading table so students can move as they are learning to read. The guided reading table is where I as the teacher works with a small group of readers. It is at this table where students learn how to read text based on their reading level and are able to show me their strengths in reading. At this table we work on reading strategies and phonics skills that help students grow. These balls can help students have a longer attention span during guided reading groups. These balls can help students focus better at the guided reading table. Students can use the wobble cushions in their seats. These will be rotated among students in the classroom based on who needs them.
