While our second grade class has 1:1 Chromebooks, the charging of 24 individual laptops is difficult with 24 chords laying around the classroom. In order to make this happen, the kids have their Chromebooks in baskets on shelves. Our problem is that we use these laptops daily, and then plugging in is cumbersome. As a result, they aren't always charged correctly and students find they can't work on their presentations or use their apps unless they are sitting next to the charger. Having a charging station would make charging easy and safe while also allowing students to successfully use their Chromebooks to accomplish their project and learning goals.
